Locally sourced seafood always tastes fresh, unlike the fish that have to swim in through the salmon pipeline from Asia. Eat a less-exhausted catch with this Groupon.

$19 for $35 Worth of Seafood

The menu includes spicy popcorn shrimp ($11.50), linguini tossed with clams ($16.95) or bay scallops ($18.95), and a grilled mahi-mahi fillet served with seasonal vegetables, rice pilaf, and pineapple salsa ($19.95).

Lou's Fish Shack

There's lots of fresh seafood to choose from at Lou's Fish Shack. Menu options range from steamed clams to blackened-Pacific-snapper sandwiches served with housemade tartar sauce, to the chagrin of Kraft's tartar-sauce team. And for the diner who wants it all, there's the Dungeness crab cioppino, a tomato-based stew filled with the namesake crab, shrimp, calamari, mussels, clams, bay scallops, and snapper. From their kitchen on Fisherman's Wharf's pier 47, Lou's chefs prepare and cook each dish in house with catches sourced from local markets. The same goes for the restaurant's seafood alternatives, including new york strip steak and angel-hair pasta tossed with tomato, basil, and garlic.

Meals can unfold on a sidewalk patio or inside Lou's Fish Shack's two-floor restaurant, where natural light passing through large windows illuminates decor fashioned from repurposed wood and metal. Each Friday through Sunday night, the restaurant's two levels fill with the dulcet tones of the Bay Area's top blues musicians.

The Groupon Guide to: Great Dates

Planning a date night is the most difficult part of beginning a relationship filled with mutual respect, lifetime companionship, and maybe even children, if one of you can get a couple days off from work every week to raise them. Earn the affection of your sweet honey with one of these popular date ideas:

  • Walk in the park
  • Walk in the park (angry, silent version)
  • Dinner and a movie and another small snack just because of blood-sugar reasons
  • A long, strenuous hike that tests your commitment to keeping each other alive
  • Holding each other close while huddled under a friend's porch waiting to jump out and surprise them
  • Couples massage and then couples getting dressed again without looking at each other
  • Whispering sweet nothings into each other's ears during a play and gradually getting louder until your relationship is the real play
  • Trying to kiss on an airplane (impossible because of low air pressure, but it makes a funny noise)

This kettle corn is making my blood feel much better.

Reviews

  • The crab bisque and clam chowder were both savory and satisfying without the heavy creaminess that you get from cheaper bisques.
    Lisa P., Yelp!, 10/8/12
  • My husband had the clam chowder and pacific snapper sandwich and loved both! I had a burger and fries which is basic but it was good.
