Batting your eyelashes can express everything from coy admiration for a crush to frustration over studying in a strobe-lit library. Let eye adornments speak volumes with today's Groupon: for $30, you get an eyelash perm at Lovely Lashes, with locations in Costa Mesa and San Clemente (a $60 value).

Owner and founder Jackie Dark leads a staff of 14 certified aestheticians and cosmetologists at Lovely Lashes, a salon purely dedicated to enhancing flutterers. During the one-hour procedure, clients can sink into a cushy salon chair and zonk out to soothing music or the dictionary on tape while a skilled tech adds curls to stick-straight lashes. Freshly coiled wink fibers will retain their newly seductive demeanor for up to six weeks. Patrons can also apply this Groupon toward more expensive lash services, including semipermanent extensions ($150), which add volume to lash lines for up to four weeks and nix the need to use mascara or glue trained butterflies to the face.

Lovely Lashes

Owner and founder Jackie Dark, a longtime eyelash-extension customer, wanted to introduce others to the beauty service that shortened her daily routine. She and her staff of 14 certified aestheticians and cosmetologists at Lovely Lashes dedicate the practice solely to enhancing eyes. Their narrowed focus has helped them fine-tune their expertise. With synthetic or mink lashes in varying sizes, lengths, and styles, they add volume to guests' eyes, making them look alert and fresh during all hours without using mascara or gluing butterflies to their eyelids. Aestheticians can also safely remove these lash extensions or perm guests’ natural lashes to add lasting curl. When the techs aren’t busy tinting and waxing brow lines, they’re hosting training programs for budding technicians as well as private birthday, bachelorette, and girls'-night-out parties. They also remove unwanted hair through the sugaring of the face, legs, arms, and underarms. Facials help smoothen the skin, and airbrush spray tans darken epidermises for beach season and "World's Largest Bowling Trophy" competitions.

The Groupon Guide to: Sneaking Snacks into a Movie

Movie theaters insist that you purchase their snacks because if the public doesn’t buy them, the employees are forced to eat the remaining candy at the end of their shift. Avoid buying overpriced movie snacks with these tips for sneaking your own treats:

• Bring a suitcase full of large pizzas to the movies and say that you have a plane to catch right after the film ends.

• Fill your pockets with unpopped popcorn kernels. Hold each one over a lighter to activate it.

• Form licorice into the shape of glasses and wear them into the movie. If you already have glasses, pop out the lenses and replace them with Nilla wafers.

• Steal other people’s candy by pretending to be their wife or husband. They won’t know because it’s dark in a movie theater and you smell just like their spouse.

• Fill your mouth, nose, and hair with Mike and Ikes. When you get inside the movie, spit them out to share with your friends.

• Bribe the movie-theater staff into looking the other way by inviting them to your lake house for one unforgettable summer they’ll never forget.

• Soak a rag in soup and suck on it.
