Choose Between Two Options

  • $125 for a family-style dinner for 10 (a $300 value)
  • $15 for $30 worth of Serbian fare and drinks

Diners feast from a menu of Serbian delicacies, such as slow-cooked beef goulash ($15.95), cabbage leaves stuffed with ground beef, sausage, and bacon ($15.95), or a savory rack of lamb ($26.95). Each family-style dinner begins with flaky phyllo burek, followed by garden salad drizzled with seven-herb vinaigrette. Next, chicken paprikash cutlets arrive under a blanket of mild, velvety sauce, and moussaka meals unite layers of herb-stuffed eggplant with creamy egg custard. Plates of raznijici feature hand-cut char-grilled pork tenderloin kebabs alongside fresh rice and the day’s veggie selection.

Old Town Serbian Gourmet Restaurant

Chandeliers and linen-clad tables lend a bit of glitz to the warm, welcoming Old Town Serbian Gourmet Restaurant. The menu that gets passed out in that friendly atmosphere features flavorful homestyle Serbian cuisine that unites the Midwest with the Old World, promising a smorgasbord of traditional Serbian stews, dumplings, pilafs, and cutlet entrees crafted from locally farmed produce. The spread ranges from multi-course feasts of chevapchichi and wholesome meals of fresh fish or stuffed cabbage. That diverse selection allows the menu to captivate the palate with dishes that are simultaneously exotic and familiar, similar to having George Clooney move in above the garage.

Lunches and dinners start with crusty bread and a side of kajmak—a Serbian cheese spread that is positively addictive.

“The food really was fantastic, the cup of soup, the excellent salad, which had a house dressing and our main coarse was unbelievable, I had stuffed peppers, my wife had goulash, the quantity and quality was really good, and the presentation was perfect. The waiter bent over backwards to give you everything you wanted, don't be turned off by decor, enjoy it as part of nostalgia, but be prepared for a great meal.”
