Boot-camp classes begin with yoga for a light stretch and then proceed to a full-body warm-up. During the actual workout, trainers focus on stretching to reduce injury, getting clients to their fitness goals, and building the muscle mass that’s lost naturally as we age. Trainers employ kettlebells, barbells, and other modalities to build that muscle and increase metabolism, which helps the body burn calories while at rest.
