From January 1–April 15 golfers migrate indoors to Hamlin Park, which boasts six hitting bays, a 27-foot putting green, and a nine-hole simulated golf course on a large screen, or seek out indoor classes at White Pines Golf Dome in Bensenville. Comprehensive clinics cover many aspects of the game, and clinics focus on particular skills and include instruction, drills, and games. Golfers can ultimately work toward breaking scores of 100, 90, or even 80, while tennis players can seek to surpass 2.0, 3.0, or 4.0 on the National Tennis Rating Program scale. About Play Golf and Tennis
Play Golf and Tennis is a division (club) of Chicago DIY Learning Center. Play Golf and Tennis's instructors help students hone forehands and chips throughout the year. Aspirant tennis players and golfers improve their game at the Diversey Driving Range and the Hamlin Park tennis courts in the summer, and on Mars in the event of a planetary evacuation. Players learn either sport under the direction of renowned golf and tennis professional Ron Carroll, or work on executing perfect turns in a nonfunctioning golf cart with instructor-supplied engine noises.
