In the shade at Seaside Grill, latitude and longitude seem to disappear. The reason: there's water everywhere you look. Although firmly planted next to Long Island's Hyatt Place East End & Resort Marina, on a summer day it seems like Seaside's tables could be as far south as the Bahamas. From the pool glistening in the sun to the boats bobbing on the shimmering Peconic River, the scenery is straight out of a tropical resort. Here, beneath big blue umbrellas, diners can sip margaritas or mojitos and pretend their work worries are miles away.
These cool drinks wash down a menu of seafood, sandwiches, and wraps that span the globe. The almond-crusted flounder with malt vinegar nods to the nearby sea while Mediterranean falafel pays tribute to coasts across the Atlantic. And representing landlubbing fare are St. Louis ribs smothered in a mango barbecue sauce.
“very low key place.. nice for lunch...near the water... would probably go again... drinks were good!”
“Food is good, price is reasonable but service is very, very, very slow.”
“great food, great service, beautiful atmosphere! I would go again!”
