NRA-certified instructors cover conflict resolution, firearm safety, and the statues that apply to carrying concealed handguns during the eight-hour course, which includes a range session with a free gun rental and ear and eye protection. Students also receive a booklet and class materials and a certificate of completion, which they need to apply for a concealed-pistol license in the state of Michigan.

Self Defense CCW

Led by chief instructor and range safety officer Shawn Washington, Self Defense CCW's team of fellow NRA-certified instructors guide students through the skills and responsibilities of carrying a firearm. Catering to first-time gun owners as well as experienced marksmen, their classes cover topics such as basic firearms skills, handgun safety, and alternatives to using force. Along with classes seven days a week, the instructors impart their know-how during sessions customized around students' schedules.
