Will Ripley Vancouver Guitar School

At Will Ripley Vancouver Guitar School, instructors ask students to compile a list of their favorite songs, which they then work through, picking up chords, scales, and finger positioning along the way. The process lets pupils work towards playing songs they are excited about. It's also not impossible that they'd bring in something from the school's founder, the Berklee College of Music-educated Will Ripley, whose accomplished guitar work has appeared on recordings from Grammy Award-winning rap artist Chin Injeti and David Bowie’s guitarist.

Lessons take place in a space full of PAs, drums, and amps, which the instructors use to convey musical concepts to the student. Students can apply those techniques to all genres of music— rock, folk, metal, and jazz are but a few styles that a visitor might hear drifting from electric and acoustic guitars there. Four times each year, Will Ripley Vancouver Guitar School gives students a chance to cut loose at "rock-citals," where they can rehearse with a full, professional band before performing on stage for friends, family, and the other students.
