Satori means sudden enlightenment, and at Satori Salon that moment comes when stylists spin clients around to face the mirror and a brand new cut and color are revealed. Inside this Washington Avenue salon in the Heights, dark bamboo paneling and wooden Buddhas create a Zen-like feeling. The Satori experience isn’t just about getting a haircut; it’s about creating the perfect hair design in a lush atmosphere. The designers here are all established stylists, and many have master-level color training and experience working on photo shoots and runway shows. A great hairstyle might not lead to sudden enlightenment, but it can definitely be a great surprise during the big reveal.

Childhood nibbling on plastic hotdog buns and rubber burger patties taught you that food should be edilble and non-plastic. Today’s Groupon shames your childhood fare with $25 to use toward individual meals or meal plans from the chefs at Real Meals 365 for $10. Give your stomach and vitamin departments the fortification to make it through another revolution along the earth’s centripetal axis.

Real Meals 365 caters more than 150 portion and calorie-controlled meals, rotating every five weeks, for your appetite's hungry perusal. Experience the luxury of personalized cooking with a full day’s worth of savory recipes on the a la carte menu. Real Meals 365 serves up fresh flavor profiles from all over the world, from breakfast all-stars such as sweet-potato pancakes ($4.99) and banana-streusel french toast ($4.99) to luncher’s Louisiana chicken gumbo ($6.99) and peppercorn-crusted sirloin and swiss wrap ($6.99) to petite filets with shallot port wine sauce ($8.99) and lightly breaded chicken parmesan ($8.99). The food is prepared with all-natural ingredients and hormone-free, humanely raised meats.

The handmade meals are never frozen, and a chef’s dedication to the utmost quality product keeps trans-fats, artificial flavors, invented colors such scurple or yellow, and high-fructose corn syrup out of the kitchen. All recipes are hand- and palate-inspected by certified tasteologists and dietitians whose love of food and passion for food assistance make them available for consultation if you’re looking to weigh your dietary options. You can even call to talk to a full-time dietitian if you have questions on your meal options.

Use your Groupon toward an individually cherry-picked row of delicious meals or a customized meal plan that will ensure tasty and healthy sustenance while limiting your daily caloric intake (1000, 1200, 1500, and 1800 calorie per day plans available). Open seven days a week, Real Meals 365 makes it easy to bypass the injuries of competitive grocery shopping and scruffulous vegetable scrubbing with food chomping at the bit to RSVP to your eating party.

This Groupon is good for pick-up only.

Real Meals 365 received a lovely write-up on Skirt!, which calls the business ”a one-of-a-kind, Houston-based business that combines a passion for food and helping others to create a real solution for those interested in losing weight or just eating healthy on a tight schedule.”

Q&A with the Owner and Provider

Do you use any products or brands you're particularly proud of? What makes them uniquely effective?
I find [glo therapeutics] to be the best skin line. [It is an] affordable product that actually gives results. It has a clean feel and gives a natural glow for all skin types. The glo minerals makeup line is also a natural compliment to your skin [and it maintains] a natural feel and look.

Besides making clients happy, what do you like most about your job?
I not only [take] pride in making my clients happy but also in giving them realistic results that [are] skillfully tailored to their own natural beauty.

What's the most common beauty mistake you see people make? What would you recommend they do instead?
I have noticed almost everyone not using SPF sunscreen. It is extremely vital to our skin that we protect it from the sun's rays. Another mistake I've found is those who do put on SPF think it's protecting them all day. SPF needs to be reapplied every two hours, especially for those who [are] outside for work or pleasure and [those] who drive a lot. SPF should be applied to the face, neck, décolleté, arms, and hands if [they are] exposed. Typically, our left side [of the] face, arms, and hands are the most exposed areas and tend to be more tanned as a result from driving. [They] also tend to [have] more unwanted skin conditions. Thus, I can't stress enough the importance of having your SPF. It also aids in [the] anti-aging of the skin.
