The inspiring trainers at each MetaBody location lead troops of workouteers in results-oriented workouts several times weekly. Sweat sessions utilize a variety of exercises and disciplines to produce full-body results in a supportive environment, ideal for beginners and hard-core core-hardeners alike. During any class, motivational instructors will use the instinctual distrust of routine to their advantage. Begin a day of litigating with a refreshing early-morning boot-camp session, or wind down by burning evidence and pounds with a late-evening yoga class. Muscles are kept guessing with new and challenging moves during each session, so participants never fall into a boring, ineffective routine, such as regular teeth brushing. In addition to the fitness classes, students receive a success guide to help prepare for imminent pound loss, a nutrition guide, and a $100 gift certificate for individual coaching. Because the pass sets a 10-class cap at any given location, roving fitness mavens can further shake up their workout regimens by vetting a series of classes or instructors that work best for them.
FTF Fitness and Self Defense's team of 13 instructors know that most people are fighting something. That something might be a vicious bully, persistent weight gain, or a less tangible entity such as fatigue or non-Euclidian geometry. No matter what it is, they're confident they can help. Their diverse knowledge of fighting techniques stretches around the world, from Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to Krav Maga, a self-defense system developed for the Israeli armed forces. In addition to earning belts and certifications in numerous forms of martial arts, the teachers possess years of real-world experience that they use to help others cultivate strength, discipline, and confidence. These goals also inform the studio's Krav Maga classes, which reveal simple self-protection techniques that can be applied if a person is approached by a lone assailant or a nunchuck-wielding octopus.
In addition to imparting defense strategies to students aged 4 and older, the team teaches SPARology, a training program that blends muay thai, boxing, and wrestling into a fun-and-functional workout. Classes and one-on-one training take place in a gym equipped with full-size heavy bags, Lifeline power jumpers, kettlebells, battling ropes, and monkey bars.
With locations spanning the United States, Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom, iLoveKickboxing.com has trimmed the waistlines of thousands of members while bolstering their confidence levels with engaging and varied total-body workouts. The program blends kickboxing techniques into a fat-burning, muscle-toning, and endurance-enhancing regimen. Limbs warm up with a quick jog before taking down imaginary opponents with a set of practice kicks and punches to drive home proper technique. The pummeling then switches to the one of many freestanding heavy bags, and incorporates ducking and weaving to boost heart rates. Teamwork drills help members tone up while cultivating camaraderie, which could lead to a partnership inspiring future buddy-cop-movie sensations.
PRIDE Conditioning's boot-camp classes are tailor-made to send wrecking balls of encouragement through stonewalled fitness routines. All sessions are led by Doug Seamans, a certified personal trainer, weight-loss expert, and mixed-martial-arts practitioner who's equal parts combat boots and enthusiasm. Doug will assume the role of drill sergeant during boot camp; the environment is made to feel encouraging, but only for participants willing to work hard and push themselves to a critical mass of sweaty exertion. Workouts are designed to utilize every pit and portion of the human body, keeping each class interesting and challenging. Potential training includes body-weight exercises, plyometrics, dumbbell repetitions, isometrics, short-distance running, sprinting, stability balls, cardio and strength training, throwing refrigerators, and more.

Exercise is challenging, and people frequently give up on their fitness routines. How do you keep clients motivated?
We want our members to feel like they're part of a community and never like they're in this on their own. To that end, we encourage students to go at their own pace and continually offer positive reinforcement throughout the workouts to reduce any intimidation.
What's the most radical physical transformation you've seen a client make?
We just had one client report that she has lost 17 pounds in the last 10 weeks?but more importantly she lost 10 pounds of pure fat and gained muscle in the process. Another client has lost more than 20 pounds in four months. When she first came in, she couldn't run around the gym. But now she's completing one-hour classes and taking on every challenge she's given.
What is the biggest mistake you see people make when trying to get fit on their own?
The biggest mistake is the negative self-talk and self-sabotage; so they give up on themselves too quickly. Or they don't push themselves out of their comfort zone. We do encourage members to go at their own pace while taking on challenges as often as possible, so they see the change and growth happening.
Is there anything else you want to add that we didn't cover?
Getting into shape is such a personal and emotional journey for many people, and we really respect that notion when people come to our gym. We want them to know that we really appreciate that they want us to help them in some way and we truly take that to heart with every member.
