The people that work there are nice, which is the reason why I gave the extra stars. I wouldn't go back but to each her own.

Beautiful surroundings. Took a long time for the water to get warm so we went to community pool. Definitely another visit is needed and stay awhile longer

Very very rustic. The road to this place in the mountains. Make sure you have a SUV with 4x4. The road is not paved the last few miles in, it's also one way do if the road is busy -expect to back up every couple of miles to let traffic through. The road is not for an amateur- definitely can not go more than 8 mph.

The "hot springs" wasn't hot at all. It was lukewarm at best. There was only 1 spot outside and it was occupied by a nudist. We went inside the bath house and the water wasn't all that great. The food was good but not worth the windy drive over.

The road leading into the hot springs is a one lane road full of sharp turns near steep cliffs. The voucher is more for the restaurant versus the hot spring at the resort. But if you hike a mile you come across beautiful natural hot springs that are a lot bigger than the resort. Bonus star for the camp host who gave us great hiking advice.

The bath tubs we're very nice and the buffalo burgers were fantastic at the restaurant. It does take about an hour and 15 minutes to drive 16 miles from Huntington Lake the road is very bumpy and one lane for most of the drive so take your time.

From Our Editors

Since its founding in 1935, Mono Hot Springs Resort has housed the healing secrets of the mineral springs within its mountain-lined perimeter. After bunking in simple stone cabins complete with cozy fireplaces or staking out spots for tents perched atop wooden platforms, visitors can decamp to the onsite health spa, where massage therapists knead out kinks, and hot springs soothe aches with natural minerals.

A slew of outdoor activities feeds addictions to fresh air, challenging muscles to hikes along woodsy trails leading to the teetering boulder of Balancing Rock or gushing waters of Bear Diversion Dam. The waves of Doris Lake lap at a more leisurely pace, heated by the warm springs from which they spill and invite swimmers to take a dip. Lakes also host fishing and boating, and a nearby stable saddles up steeds for horseback riding. After finishing outdoor excursions or therapeutic soaks, guests can hunt for meal components in the general store or feast on buffalo ribs and mountain views on the restaurant's covered deck.
