Sam's Cafe, Houston

Customer service is non existent in this place, but really it's been that way since they opened years ago. I waited 15 mins longer than quoted for take out without the slightest apology. As I sat there I watched 2 people come into dine & sit for over ten mins without being greeted, while an employee & I think 2 family member's that were just there hanging out I assume sat and played on their phones and laptops completely ignoring the customers. The spring rolls are a JOKE!! Just shrimp & iceberg lettuce rolled up in way too much rice paper with the worst peanut sauce ever! My shrimp & scallop dinner had ZERO scallops. Fried rice & egg rolls are pretty good, wonton & egg drop soup not so great. All in all pretty disappointed & just glad I used a Groupon instead of paying full price.

We really enjoyed our meals here. The food was delicious. Very Goooooooood.

The counter staff initially wouldn't let me use my Groupon for take-out (no mention of this in terms) & told me to come back when I could sit down to eat. After my insistence & a phone call to the manager I was able to place order to-go. I was appreciative and tipped well. Based on the food, I'll never be back. My tofu was missing the veggies & tofu was drowning in oily orange water.
