I brought a party there and was cleaning the private room myself prior to the guests arriving (ie. windexing the mirror, the seats were all stained). I was also verbally promised something by one mgr and then when i went and that specific mgr wasn't on they didn't honour her promise. The food is always lackluster... i ordered a $26 prime rib and it was dry and unappetizing. So if I could have chosen all of the above that they need to improve on, I would have.
We have always had great food/service at Cabanas up to our last visit. We were so disappointed that all of our meals (party of 4) were not just a little overcooked but absolutely disgusting! It took 20 min's before someone even acknowledged us, after we were seated. If it wouldn't have been that we were using our Groupon, we would have left. The Manager came around to explain (more like complain) that the service was slow because they were SO busy. Well, then bring in more staff! Not the customer's problem. SO DISAPPOINTING! Won't go back and this WAS one of our favorites in Kelowna. If the bad service/food was because we were using a Groupon then perhaps Cabanas should rethink this
Good service. Great food.
Far too small of portions and quality of food for $ value! It sucked big time! Ambiance and service was excellent! Just cheap, cheap, food for such big $$$ Food was almost invisible!
Good food and the atmosphere is great.
The live music was way too loud for the dining room! We could have chose the patio if we wanted the live music, but we were trying to have conversation with 2 other couples and the music was really a hinderance.
Food and service excellent last week. Went back yesterday (Sunday). Music way too loud and had to ask to have turned down. Doors open and cold and windy outside. Very uncomfortable sitting inside. Staff were taking people blankets outside, but left doors open. Wanted to have short ribs a 2nd time, but they were out of stock. I would go back............need short ribs again.
We had a pleasant young woman serving us but the food prep took over an hour.
Food wasn't cooked right. We waited over an hour for our entrees. They doped the price on some appies and made three portion sizes way way too small without advising they changed them.
Service was mediocre. Get a beer menu we can read!

Even from the outside, Cabana Bar & Grille looks stunning—a towering lakeside edifice crowned with handsome wood-beam awnings, surrounded by potted palms, and illuminated by the flames of outdoor fire pits. Past the gurgling fountain and cushioned furniture of the patio, hanging globes tie the indoor decor to the outdoor, spotlighting spacious leather booths and abstract artwork on the walls. In a lounge area, flat-screen TVs complement curtained walls between windows that, like giants peeking in from outside, yawn from floor to ceiling.
This vibrant and sophisticated setting creates a fitting backdrop for chef Diana Johnstone equally complex and upscale menu of internationally inspired dishes. Johnstone—a veteran of Top Chef Canada and Food Network's Chopped Canada —folds Okanagan seasonal ingredients into artisanal pizzas, pastas, and specialties. To complement the flavours of Alberta certified Angus beef, B.C. salmon, and local produce, the restaurant offers Okanagan wines and a colourful array of posh cocktails, including cosmopolitans with top-shelf vodka and mangojitos with fresh mint.
