Whether she's on a beach, observing newlyweds walk down the aisle, or in her home studio, watching children at play, Colette is constantly building tiny time machines. She hopes that each of her photos can transport viewers back to its preserved moment, allowing them to relive the emotion and ambiance. Her headshots, family portraits, and maternity images frame subjects against their chosen backdrop, and her aesthetic eye enables her to zoom in on arresting details: a ballet-dancer's feet—poised en pointe—or a pair of hands exchanging wedding rings. She also readily snaps pictures of newborns and nonhuman models, including pets and the mannequin that stands in for your chronically late uncle.
