When I arrived for my appointment I was told the doctor didn't come in but I could proceed with the massage & come back another day for the chiro exam. I didn't go back because if the office couldn't keep their appointment or at least call me so I have the option to reschedule before trekking to the Eastside only to be told I couldn't receive part of my service, then why would I trust them to keep another appointment. Most doctors offices extend the courtesy of a phone call if they can't see you for your appointment. This office did not even bother.

I had a problem with an hour long massage in the chair. The therapist was GREAT! My neck didn't like the position in the chair for that long. Oh, well. The Dr. was very good but his bedside manner leaves much to be desired. The staff was lovely. I know this Dr. can help me - just need to figure out how to afford it since it is not cheap.

The massage included with the X-ray and exam, which is largely why I went, was not particularly good, and was in a small, cramped, and extremely hot room. It was a halfhearted massage that left me more uncomfortable than when I came. As a chiropractor, Dr. Smatt is excellent at adjusting my back, but a large part of what he and his staff try to do is upsell--get clients to come in more and more frequently. If he weren't such a good chiropractor, I would be really, really unhappy with the place.
