About Toyota Owners 400

Stock cars have been painting blurry streaks around the asphalt at Richmond International Raceway ever since it opened in 1946 on the former Virginia State Fairgrounds. The first NASCAR event sped into town in 1953, and the 3/4-mile D-shaped track has staged a NASCAR event every year since. Today, in fact, it hosts two doubleheader weekends every year: the Toyota Owners 400 in the spring and the the Federated Auto Parts 400 in the fall. RIR, as it’s known to motorheads, is one of the only short tracks on the circuit, fostering chaos at every corner as cars bank around 14-degree turns to the delight of 70,000-plus fans and the terror of ants just trying to make it back to the infield.

I had a great time at this event, but I have some advice for anyone who might redeem a Groupon in the future. You need to present your Groupon at the main ticket office to get your actual tickets to the race. I didn't realize the main ticket office would be so far from where I parked and I also stood in line at a smaller ticket booth before I was told to go to the main ticket office. Once I got to the main ticket office, everything went smoothly, but I just didn't realize ahead of time that I would need to do this.

Took my Dad to the race and we had a great time! RIR is a first class facility!

I do not recommend buying the tickets on Groupon for $60. When I turned them in for real tickets through the box office they gave my $42 seats
