A strong man wrestles you to the ground to show off; a stronger man boosts your self-esteem and then accidentally breaks three of your ribs with a supportive hug. Learn the tenets of both strength and community with today's militantly muscled Groupon: for $44, you get a month of unlimited four- or five-day-a-week boot-camp sessions from Get in Shape Boot Camp, a $250 value. Choose from the six locations listed in the sidebar.
In Get in Shape's boot camp, the enemy is predictability. In each class, your instructors will throw down a fresh guerilla ambush's worth of challenges for your muscles and your brain, fueling constant gains and keeping you engaged. Over the course of the 45-minute to one-hour session, you'll run, jump, slam out push-ups, chase chickens, punch slabs of beef, and end with a live crocodile wrestle. In the heat of your workout, you'll sweat out weakness, fear, and monosodium glutamate while beginning to gain the functional, unsurpassed strength of a body in fluid, powerful motion.
Get in Shape's hardcore hardbodies are half drill sergeant, half high-school football coach, and half mathematician, but all expert. They want you to go tactical on flab, but not without realistic encouragement and support. Times vary depending on the location, but most sessions are in the early morning or evening Monday–Friday and can accommodate about 60 people.
Groupies attending boot camp at the Stone Mountain location will need to purchase a parking pass at the gate. They can purchase a one-day pass for $10 or an annual pass for $35.
