Recently placed under new management, Hemingway’s provides patrons with fine-dining options corralled onto a rotating weekly menu, which includes an extensive roster of fresh seafood as well as continental fare prepared by head chef Jason West. One such menu may include the crab Louie starter, with lump blue crab conquering avocado and corn pesto under a triumphant banner of Louie sauce ($13). Ignore bossy Do Not Dive signs and plunge headfirst into the pan-seared chilean sea bass ($26), or stay near the shallow end with a seared duck breast basking in berry compote ($20). Lunchtime menu options could include daily specialties such as the catch of the day—gulf fish prepared in a variety of ways: blackened, grilled, sautéed or fried ($12)—or the gnocchi of the day, house-made dumplings ($9) daily displayed in different festive arrangements, such as a star or the face of Laura Ingalls Wilder.

Enjoy feeling decadent within Hemingway’s dark cherry-wood interior, all without the added “decadence” tax tacked on by many fine-dining restaurants. In Hemingway's Bar & Grill's bustling kitchen, Chef Jason West crafts rotating weekly menus inspired by seasonal produce and fresh catches. The seafood cache pairs pasta and vegetables with a sautéed or artfully blackened fillet, which, like Ebenezer Scrooge, is warm and tender beneath its toughened demeanor. A signature gnocchi of the day joins chops and bowls swirling with house-made soups, and lavish Sunday brunches greet the day with pastries, omelets, and curlicues of peel-and-eat shrimp. Hemingway's full-service bar, the Blue Marlin, pours domestic and imported beers alongside flights and bottles of wines, which often headline their own tasting events.
