Great way to spend some quality conversation time with friends. Kids are allowed, but not kid friendly. There isn't anything for them to do. I the direction given by the person attending the front counter could be more clear. It sounded like they had a go to script they recited, and will not provide any further details on what to do or where to go, outside of what they have already said. They don't like to answer questions. Other than that, once you get your beers, its just hanging out until you're done. Bring your own cards or games to play with your company to keep entertained, or you can stare out into the parking lot while you're there.
