Without dance, people could only hum along to "Macarena," and Jane Austen characters would be forced to say what was really on their minds. Let movements speak with today’s Groupon: for $30, you get two workshops at PoleLaTeaz (up to a $70 value).
PoleLaTeaz’s instructors draw on more than 200 hours of training to safely and skillfully lead students in spinning around poles and launching chair-based seduction attempts in PoleLaTeaz’s workshops, offered on most days of the week, with the majority of scheduled workouts on Saturday and Sunday. With spotlights gleaming over each of the studio’s poles, the 90-minute introductory workshop prepares ladies for chair routines, floor work, or spins down from the tip of the Space Needle. Themed sessions such as the lap dance, burlesque, or chair-dance workshops develop skills in a diverse series of routines. Burlesque workshops, such as Dirty Martini and Pretty in Pink, offer an empowering outlet for theatrical seduction, while Suspended Yoga Dance workshops with names such as Luscious allow dancers to perform peaceful yoga moves without feet being scratched by the earth's rough surface or tickled by its ubiquitous tumbling boulders. Check PoleLaTeaz’s schedule to see when each workshop meets.
As CNN Medical Correspondent Judy Fortin discovered during her visit to Atlanta, PoleLaTeaz's flirty-fitness classes encourage self-confidence as much as toned muscles. Led by studio owner Angela Edwards and her staff of experienced instructors, sultry sessions range from introductory pole dancing to suspended yoga. Each class retains an all-female roster to further promote a comfortable environment. Before participants learn routines consisting of swings, swivels, and uncanny imitations of flagpoles, they also work to gain agility by practicing Pilates stretches.
