Saaghi Restaurant is named for a romantic figure from Persian poetry. "Saaghi," explains the eatery's website, is the wine-bearer mentioned by myriad poets throughout history. "She is beautiful, kind, loving, and always by her man's side." She's also a fitting namesake for a place where vivid sensory experiences abound. Classical-style columns adorn the spacious dining room, flavorful lamb kabobs are seared on open flames, and traditional art contrasts with moody lighting fixtures. Sometimes belly dancers are in attendance too, undulating to live music and transforming the spot into a globe-crossing cabaret.
