We’re a boutique AntiGravity® aerial yoga & fitness studio with 5 student hammocks. Classes are intimate so we can make sure each student is practicing safely and correctly. Our soft flooring ensures your safety! Your first flyte with us will be epic. We know you’ll love it.
Exercise is challenging. How do you keep clients motivated and engaged?
Each of our instructors beam positivity and encouragement. We know it’s hard to get out of bed or off the couch to exercise, that’s why our classes are engaging, fun, and take you away from any negative thoughts. We spice up each class with fun tricks and flips so that you’ll look forward to coming back.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
Soul Flyte started when owner Shira fell in love with AntiGravity® yoga and fitness. She loved how it made her neck and spine feel as well as her belly. She knew she needed to bring it to Nyack, NY where people are very open to trying new and exciting things.
What do you love most about your job?
Everyday I get to tip people upside down––many of them for the first time. I love to watch their face as their spine releases and they get a chance to feel like a kid again. “You are only as young as your spine is flexible and your mind is open.” - Christopher Harrison
"Everyday we get to tip people upside down," declares the staff of Soul Flyte. But this isn't a traveling carnival or a center for catching loose change out of customers' pockets—it's an aerial fitness studio. Here, founder Shira Turkl-Rubin and fellow instructor Emyli Ziangos tap into their love of exercise and penchant for challenging themselves and others by helming AntiGravity classes. The classes, which include no more than five students, pair each student with a silk fabric hammock that allows them to twist, swing, flip, and stretch without straining one's spine or joints. Students can enjoy a more strenuous workout with the flying fitness session and decompression sessions or focus on meditation and relaxation with the restorative yoga sessions.
