Tuk Tuk Restaurant
Tuk Tuk Restaurant takes its name from the motorized, tricycle-like rickshaws that weave through the streets of Bangkok and other Southeast Asian cities, filling the air with the distinctive sputtering of two-stroke engines that earned these vehicles their onomatopoetic name. As its name implies, the eatery proudly showcases its passion for Thai street foods. Six different curries appear on the menu alongside dishes such as wok-fried pork with fresh garlic and white pepper, and Thai-style barbecued chicken with a sweet garlic sauce.
Although Tuk Tuk Restaurant's cuisine honors its humble roots, the decor exudes a much more regal ambiance. The high-ceilinged space features walls filled with cherry-hued wooden planks as well as a massive stone relief commemorating the first pad thai noodle to be blanched. Orange cushions add a welcome splash of color while still managing to complement the space's warm earth tones.
