Candlewood Suites Herndon by IHG

Good hotel but can be better PROs- good location , good service , clean rooms CONs- they didn’t have the room I booked ! Came to Herndon and I booked through Expedia . I specifically wanted a kitchenette and 2 beds . Slightly expensive but I went ahead and booked it . The location was good and parking lot was big and was good . Room was near and clean . Bathrooms were ok .. When I went to check in , I was told that they didn’t have the room I booked . I was initially upset but then they gave me 2 rooms next. To each other with 1 bed in each room ! The guy in front desk was helpful even though I didn’t get what I booked . No complimentary breakfast .. not much of amenities . It was an average experience . 3 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️

AWESOME AVNEET! Beds are super comfy, AC is a blast. Avneet is new, but super @ handleing the front desk & always super friendly. Harish, Faisal & their team are great. Been here a long time & continue to stay. Stephanie is excellent in her sales position & always friendly & easy to work with.

I have never had a worse hotel experience I have no idea how this location is rated a 4 star hotel. I have never stayed in a worse hotel, motel or rental in my life. I stayed with my husband at this location a week ago, for one night. The Cons: - Hallway smelled like cigarette smoke, even though it was allegedly a "smoke free hotel" - the kitchenette was run down, bits were broken, the dishwasher front had been painted, but was banged up and dirty - There was visible mold growing along the edge of the tub, and under the sink - There was no ventilation in the bathroom - There were dark splatters of something behind the armchair, that were only visible when looking for an outlet on the right side of the bed - There was no outlet on the right side of the bed, due to the armchair taking up the space of the nightstand - THERE WERE MUSHROOMS GROWING OUT OF THE BASEBOARDS OUTSIDE OF THE BATHROOM - There were dead mushroom stems that had clearly been sprayed with something, so the hotel staff were evidently aware of the issue and continued to rent out the room. - The staff was dismissive, un-empathetic, and suggested we talk to the manager in the morning. They claimed the hotel was booked and that nothing could be done. - The manager offered a 50% discount for having to stay in a biohazard of a room. Only after my husband arrived to discuss the issue was a full refund offered. The Pro: - The bed was clean. Not exceedingly comfortable, but seemingly clean. I am astounded that mushrooms growing out of the wall was not handled with more genuine concern, and that IHG, Candlewood Suites, and its staff find it acceptable to rent out spaces that would otherwise be ripped to the studs and considered uninhabitable until mold could be properly mitigated. I cannot in good faith ever recommend this chain to anyone, and I will never be staying here again. I expected a simple, clean place to rest for a short night, and instead I was met with a biohazard, and dismissive staff.

All staff members are nice and helpful. Rooms are clean and the staff is nice. The new front desk employee Auneet does a wonderful job. If I needed anything the front desk staff has no problem with helping. The experience is great and I compliment all staff. This is for front desk and housekeeping as well.

Candlewood Suites Herndon, VA Great Stay Candlewood Suites Herndon, VA Great stay at Candlewood Suites in Herndon. I always stay her because of the bed, pillows, kitchen, dishwasher. All utensils, pots and pans, washer & dryers, the cupboard and of course the Great staff. My company had boxes of material sent to the hotel, I thought it would be a problem but to my gratefulness they accepted them and stored them till I picked them up. Thanks again to the front desk staff, even offered to help load them onto the bellhop dolly. Good locations for a lot of restaurants and shopping can’t go wrong staying here. I will be back when working again in this area.
