Typical Quality. Note: I assign a 4 rating to chain hotels that live up to expectations for the chain. This location is what a Quality Inn is supposed to be. Check in and check out was, as customary, friendly and efficient. Room was comfortable, wifi OK but a touch slow as is normal. I appreciate a room that has a fully enclosed bath instead of enclosed loo and shower with the sink in the bedroom. The free hot breakfast was the full range of usual eggs and meats and make-your-own waffles--some of the Quality Inns seem to have discontinued the eggs. Choice Hotels will continue to be my first choice.

Poor corporate customer service/bad area We could not stay at this hotel. We drove through multiple homeless people wandering around (an encampment) directly in front of the hotel. While I understand that is not the fault of the hotel, this is not something that we would have known from the reviews. We asked for a refund at the front desk before we checked in but were told we were outside the window for cancellation. We also contacted Choice Hotels and they say it is out of their hands. We left and booked another hotel a few miles down the road. Hopefully this will save someone from having our same experience.

Good Stay I stayed here for 2 nights. It is not as up to date or as nice as other brands, but it was still good. The price was great, AC worked well, and the bed was comfortable enough. Construction workers were staying there, so it was kind of noisy in the morning. Overall, it was a good stay for the value.

Clean, but worn-out. This place is OK if you go into it knowing what you're getting. It is clean, but worn out. There is no elevator, so you will need to carry luggage up the stairs. Breakfast is still a take out bag. I've driven from Tucson, AZ to Virginia Beach and this is the only hotel that was still serving breakfast as a take out bag. I'm guessing it's due to monetary issues as opposed to covid. In the middle of the night some people were repeatedly coming and going and their door was closing very loudly. These are not doors that close quietly. The room had a pleasant smell and the AC worked as it should. The wi-fi in my room was sub-par and I had to turn it off in order to load web pages on my phone.

Property Good, Surroundings Bad This hotel is very clean and neat on the inside and the staff is first-rate. There is no elevator. We had a wonderful, very large suite on the second floor. However it is in a very run-down area behind a truck stop. If you go beyond the immediate area of the hotel to walk your dog, watch out! Hookers are on the prowl and there are (ahem) used condoms, which my dog, of course, zoomed in on. We walked over to the nearby Taco Bell and found that part of the seating area was being used by the hookers "managers". It was so fascinating that we stayed and watched the show. Food was good, too. We'll certainly remember this one!!
