Excellent Hotel. Excellent people! Great breakfast. I have my mom stay here every time she is in town now. Absolutely the best service! Fantastic Breakfast! Way more options then staying at another hotel of the same caliber. She stayed in 341. Nice king size bed and beautiful on the interior. Kind of a walk for my mom who is nearly 80 now but she didn't mind. There is an elevator which is great. Thank you again.

Run down & Rude My family and I were moving and needed a place to stay for a couple days until our new place was ready. We checked into the comfort Inn because it is one of the nicer hotels in Rutland, at least that’s what we thought. When I made my reservations I had to personally speak with a manager because we are locals and I guess they wanted to make sure that we weren’t some junkie scumbags that we’re gonna destroy their room which I thought was very unprofessional but anyway after speaking with Lori we were able to stay. The hotel is a bit run down, the room we stayed in definitely needed an update. There was a musty, wet smell that permeated . The bed was comfy but the pull out couch appeared to be a 1980’s leftover with a mattress to match and we found a pack of gummy’s under the fold out.Terry at the front desk wasn’t very nice, she might have had a bad day, but that’s no excuse . She was quite friendly to other guests. My husband and I are a biracial couple so maybe that’s the reason for the attitude as the other front desk associate (a bow legged older woman with grey hair) was down right rude. My little ones were taking a last dip in the pool & hot tub. It was 9 am with check out being 11 am. This woman came to the pool yelling to us that “check out time is 11 am sharp”. Really? If you are a local do not stay at the Comfort Inn! If you are from out of town, you will not be impressed.

Budget motel for the frugal... Like a time machine this place will take you back to college day ski trip. Old carpet, fried hash browns lingering in the hallways, noisy air conditioning, dorm-like furniture, and slow wifi. I've stayed in better and thought this place would be better than a hostel or a flop house davenport; but not much better...

Refusing locals in need My wife was in the emergency room at Rutland Regional Medical Center after we had been unable to get to our home twenty minutes from Rutland due to the winter weather. It was late at night; with her just getting out of the ER and no way to get home, we needed a hotel, so we called the Comfort Inn. The front desk answered the phone, stating that they were "the friendliest hotel in Rutland." False advertising if you're a local. When I explained our predicament, we were told that "the owner has put in a policy that we do not rent to people within 50 miles of Rutland." No exceptions; no discussion of individual circumstances; no ability to put down a deposit to guard against whatever; just no locals. That is not the Vermont way of doing things, and it certainly is not friendly. Prospective guests should be aware: it does not matter how nice the hotel might be if they won't let their own neighbors in need pay for a room. People should make them pay an economic penalty for this kind of discrimination by staying somewhere else. For shame! I very seldom write reviews, especially negative ones, but this policy needs to end.
