STAY AWAY It's just about the money!!! STAY AWAY NOT CLEAN ESPECIALLY DURING COVID TIMES! We booked a 3 night stay for our family vacation. When we arrived the room was very dirty, women's underwear left in a drawer, condoms and garbage under the beds, toilet loose that it almost fell over, multiple electrical plug in one outlet exposed for kids to grab, the carpet was so dirty that after cleaning our feet in the dirty old shower we had to wash them with a towel just walking across the room. When we told management we were checking out early and why, they did nothing to try to keep us there or fix the problem for that night. We knew we would be out the 1 night stay so we sucked it up. When checking out the next morning, the "refund" for the other 2 nights was less than 1/3 the total cost. We were charged over $400 for a crappy not even 2-star hotel. When we asked questions, the response was "we can do that." It was ALL ABOUT THE MONEY. I asked for a detailed statement. It took them 15 minutes to manipulate the numbers to make it work out they way they wanted. STAY AWAY and tell you friends to also.

Impossible to take a shower no heating The shower every second either froze me or burned me I had to get out of it and stayed dirty The room was very cold we asked for heating they said they will not heat if it’s more then 40 degrees outside So if it is 41 then inside is around 45 as it’s an old wood house. Also bathroom door didn’t close as it was so old that the wood got bent This hotel should go out of business as the owner is so greedy He should sleep in that cold And they seriously have the balls to charge for that????

Best Cost Benefits relationship There is everything we needed: good comfortable bed, a round table with 2 comfortable chairs besides the window, and two more desks, one for writings, TV, microwave, another for coffee maker. No bath tube but the shower is OK. WiFi inside our room was a little weak. No breakfast

Owners make this worth staying This is one of the older motels along the Rte 50 strip. But the owners have been working over the last couple of years to upgrade the rooms and amenities (e.g., improved wifi acess, new TVs). Bottom line is that compared to other older motels along Rte 50, it is the only one I will stay. It is secure (cameras on all hallways and parking lot, well lit, the owner/manager actually lives onsite (many don't at night), the beds are more than adaquate and again the owners will work to make things right if something is not going the way you need. I cannot stress that enough after staying at a another nearby place a couple months ago and the physical door to the room was cut at an angle to let visible light in, there were cracks in the walls and ceiling --- and the room was 3x the cost per night). It is not the top of the line for South Lake Tahoe, but if you want to have a good room and save money to use for other things while visiting up here, the Travel Inn is a good bet.

Guess what - You get what you pay for ... Had a 1 night stay on a Friday night, and just wanted a cheap , clean place to sleep for the night. The pluses - the room was cheap for Tahoe on a Friday night, it was clean, and did have a good enough bed, tv, and shower, and heat( more on that later). The minuses - at check in , you’re expected to fill out a check-in form that looks more like a police booking form - sorry, I’ve already paid for the room and given you my ID & a credit card at check in, you don’t need my DL #, my shoe size, and my cat’s name. Also, there’s a little sign that says they put a $100 security hold on your credit card - huh ?? Everything in the room together probably isn’t worth $100 total. My two biggest issues with the room were (1) there is no thermostat, so the heater is always on - and by midnight, I had to open the bathroom window to try & cool the room down below “Sahara in July” (2) the room is very small, but does have a tv, a cable box, a microwave, and a small fridge - but they’re all plugged into the same power strip in the only accessible electric outlet in the whole room - so it looks like something you probably had rigged up at your very first apartment, which was also your first very big fire hazard. I had to plug my cell phone in at the bathroom outlet ; there was one more outlet just outside the bathroom, but it was so worn out it wouldn’t hold a plug. So , bottom line is I got what I paid for, but next time I’ll pay $15 more and stay at the Days Inn next door, which is a much better alternative.
