The equipment we use comes from many different styles\ \ of exercise. We will be using use weight bars, weights, kettlebells, boxes, and\ \ other top of the line functional equipment. We will show you how to use it all\ \ so there is no need to be intimidated by any new equipment. \nAthletes\ \ should bring: A water bottle, fitness attire (comfortable and flexible),\ \ a towel (if needed).\nAppointment required: For initial classes only (first 3\ \ fundamental classes) \nGood for beginners: Yes \n\ Average class length: 60 min \nNumber of staff: 1-2\ \ during class, 5 total different coaches \nClass location: Mix\ \ of indoor and outdoor of our gym \nEstablished: 2010\nParking: parking lot in front. \nPro tip: Let\ \ your coaches know of any injuries and concerns before you get started. Also let\ \ them know how you are feeling afterwards.\n\nQ&A With Crossfit\ \ Epiphany\n\nHow do you keep clients motivated to reach fitness goals:\ \ \nIn order to keep our athletes motivated we rely on 3 things. Results, the\ \ community, and our atmosphere. We program our workouts to help you reach your\ \ fitness goals quickly and have a good time in the process. When you start to see\ \ those changes you’ve been wanting you will keep you coming back for more. Our\ \ community in the gym also helps motivate our athletes during each workout. As\ \ you get to know people that are on the same journey as you, you begin to want\ \ to work alongside them as you sweat together. Hard work is easier when done with\ \ friends. And finally we created the proper environment for workouts. We have\ \ everything you need including nutrition support and workout tracking.\n\n\ Crossfit is simple, why not do it on my own?\nWell aside from being\ \ able to come in to our facility, look at the pre-programmed workout, get all the\ \ equipment you need, and do it alongside others that do it, we also provide personal\ \ instruction. One of the great things about Crossfit is that many of the movements\ \ can be done almost anywhere. It’s ‘functional’ fitness! But getting the proper\ \ training to do those movements is important. Here at CFE we really focus on correct\ \ technique in order to provide a safe and effective workout system. Proper instruction\ \ on each movement and proper loading on a beginner, especially the weighted movements,\ \ can help prevent injury and when movements are done properly they can provide\ \ better results. Out philosophy is technique first, speed second. \n\n\ What can a member expect the first time?\nWhen you come in to CFE for\ \ the first time there is no need to be nervous. We provide you with all the information\ \ you will need to get started. There will be plenty of time to ask any questions\ \ you might have. We walk you through the entire process of what to expect on a\ \ day to day basis as a Crossfit athlete. We will go over what Crossfit is, how\ \ classes work, and how to integrate into the gym. We will go over a warm up and\ \ then break down our basic fundamental movements done in the gym. We also put\ \ you through a short evaluation workout using those movements in order to gauge\ \ your fitness level. This allows us to integrate you into the programming properly.\ \ Then we go over a short stretching session and send you on your way. "

  • Cinetopia
Each of Cinetopia's three locations adds a touch of luxury to the movie-watching experience, accenting stunning, lifelike projections of blockbusters with fine wine, a selection of local microbrews, fresh market-to-table cuisine, and plush, cozy seats. Along with grand auditoriums and living-room theaters, the Beaverton location houses two GXL theaters with massive 62-foot and 70-foot screens, 7.1 Meyer EXP sound, 4096p projection, and luxury seating. The Portland Tribune was impressed by the theater's "lighted boardwalk and fountain, colorful architectural design elements, and movie images dancing along windows." Films unreel onto super-high-definition, 30-foot screens in the exclusive parlor-room theaters, which pair Beaverton patrons' movie experience with a full in-theater restaurant service. The Vancouver Mall 23 location boasts four enormous GXL screens up to 80 feet with 4096p projection—four times the resolution of Blu-ray—and an exclusive immersive 64.2 channel Dolby ATMOS sound system. It also boasts five luxury-themed movie parlors, nine living rooms, and five grand auditoriums with steep stadium-style seating to help guests enjoy a clear view of the screen. The Mill Plain 8 location boasts five grand auditorium theaters, each equipped with 50-foot, 2048p screens. Rows of reclining seats ascend at a steep angle up the theater for unimpeded views, and ejection buttons allow audiences to escape the theater during too-scary shower scenes. The venue also houses three living-room theaters for patrons age 21 and older with plush seats, footrests, pillows, and waiters on hand. On an overhead balcony, live music performances fill these spaces before Friday and Saturday shows.

  • The Studio Reno
For students of The Studio, flying is not only possible—it's therapeutic. Instructors in beginners’ acro-yoga classes lead guests through the basics of gravity-defying poses and partner work, helping them balance upside down and infuse their yoga practice with trust and playfulness. During these and all classes at The Studio, the emphasis is on acceptance. The staff maintains a judgment-free atmosphere, where burgeoning yogis can feel comfortable attempting new postures without making everyone nearby crawl headfirst into a sleeping bag. The two classrooms—one heated for intense Vinyasa sequences and one kept at a standard temperature—are as calming and open as the minds within them, bordered by walls of large, panoramic windows. Under the supervision of certified teachers, most of whom have undergone hundreds of hours of yoga training, pupils hone their sense of body and breath awareness. This welcoming ambiance helped The Studio earn the 2012 award for Best Yoga Classes in the Reno News & Review. However, the center is not solely focused on classes and views them instead as one component of a total-wellness regimen. Backing up the sessions, massage therapists untangle muscular knots in two private rooms with Thai stretching techniques or other classic modalities. In the lounge, plush floor cushions support patrons as they sip complimentary tea and peel clementines. Owner Rachelle often stands behind the raw-food and juice bar, prepping wholesome meals for lunch and keeping fruit from getting too full of itself.

  • The Kids Cooking Corner
From the outside, the nonprofit, 100% volunteer-run Kids Cooking Corner has the whimsical appearance of a fairy-tale cottage, its white siding accented by baby-blue paint and surrounded by fresh flowers and topiaries. The interior of the century-old house is equally exciting to youngsters, though not because of a prince or fairy godmother willing to do all of the heavy lifting. Children work hard at The Kids Cooking Corner, but the work is disguised in fun and rewarded with tasty snacks. Instructors warmly welcome foster children and children with special needs into their classrooms. Helmed by chef, health enthusiast, and mother of three Heidi O'Connor, the volunteers at The Kids Cooking Corner strive to educate whippersnappers on nutrition, food safety, and food prep, often helping picky eaters try new foods along the way. Instructors incorporate math, science, and reading into curricula, teaching real-world applications for kids' school-sourced skills. Children definitely get their hands dirty, however: in spring and summer, they spend time in The Kids Cooking Corner garden, getting firsthand experience working with ingredients from seed to plate. Brightly painted walls, a playful party room, and a fully stocked kitchen provide a safe, exciting environment for kids to get crafty with edibles during each class, as well as during summer camps, parties, and peaceful games of food baseball.
