Premium Glass & Tint Inc.’s factory-trained technicians battle harmful UV rays and stifling temperatures with 3M and Solar Gard films. A lot of glass has felt their touch in the past, including the windows of more than 10,000 cars and several buildings at the San Jose International Airport.
With help from a computer, the techs custom-cut films to fit car windows. They cloak autos in a spectrum of products, from color-stable films with a factory-glass gleam to crystalline tints designed for high-end cars and bicycles that think they're cars. The team heads to residences with films that can block the sun—and lower AC costs—as well as prevent glass from shattering during inclement weather or stuntman conventions. Premium Glass & Tint
also offers gift certificates, which customers can use for tinting windows, or the shop's other services, including replacing and repairing busted windshields, and protecting paint with Scotchgard Paint Protection film.
Don and Rick Wood, owners of Cooks Collision, can trace their auto-repair roots back to the 1930s. Their grandfather, Clyde, built cars for Ford Motor Company and later started his own body shop, where he passed his knowledge on to his son, Bob. After working as a body-shop manager for Saltnes Volkswagen, Bob took out a mortgage against his family home and purchased Cooks Auto Body, fulfilling his dream of starting his own shop—just like his dad. Today, Don and Rick carry on the family legacy with more than 30 locations, dozens of employees, and one magical vintage racecar. Their ASE-certified mechanics are factory-certified by Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Jaguar, and Volvo, and they repair around 30,000 cars each year.
Manned by ASE-certified technicians, the River City Brakes garage treats vehicles of all makes and models to maintenance and repair services. The team rids engines of stale oil and forgotten Easter eggs with helpings of fresh lube and throws in a complimentary tire rotation with each change. They also vend and install brake pads, as well as inspect and repair alternators, starters, and belts.
