Instructors trained in the Paul Mitchell teaching method introduce students to the art and technique of hair design, color services, and makeup application at Pulse Beauty Academy. Their immersive style of education allows advanced students to gain experience and expertise at an on-site salon, where locals drop in for cut, color, and styling services. Each service is divided by phase one students, phase two’s honor students, and phase nine’s ninjas. In addition to churning out stylists, the school demonstrates its inner beauty by supporting causes such as Habitat for Humanity and the Andrew Gomez Dream Foundation.
Students of all abilities and experience levels are welcome to learn at Balance Dance Center, where dedication is rewarded with learning sweet moves from experienced instructors. The dance center creates a warm and welcoming environment with classes designed to celebrate all students in art-dance form.
Exciting classes cover a wide variety of forms, from ballet to jazz to modern to hip-hop. Students can take a free-flowing Zen dance class or get their blood moving with a cardio hip-hop class. The center also offers workshops and master classes taught by visiting artists who specialize in styles such as Bollywood and musical theater.
Founded in 1931 by like-minded artists, critics, and forward-thinking community members, Chester County Art Association is thriving more than 75 years later as a community space for fostering the arts. During the summer, art camps keep children and adolescents occupied with pottery, drawing, mixed media projects, and collages made with ripped-up homework from the previous school year. Meanwhile, adult classes focus on learning to paint landscapes, draw the human form, solder, or throw forms on a pottery wheel.
Helmed by state-certified teachers, KnowledgePoints learning centers mold the minds of those students who have fallen behind–or those students who need an extra challenge–in a comfortable and supportive environment. The organization's teachers take a personal approach to basic skills tutoring, relying on tried-and-true techniques to help students boost grades in math, reading, and writing, and to develop better study habits. Additionally, KnowledgePoints utilizes diagnostic skills assessments in order to identify every student's strengths and weaknesses.
