Detroit Activities

With a diverse musical history that includes Motown and garage rock, it’s no wonder that live performance and other forms of art factor into so many Detroit activities. The city is home to numerous venues, including The Fillmore Detroit and the Fox Theatre, where nationally touring musicians play many concerts in Detroit. But the city’s culture doesn’t stop there. The Detroit Institute of Arts has been giving locals access to paintings and sculptures from world-renowned artists including Vincent Van Gogh, Auguste Rodin, and Paul Gauguin since opening more than 100 years ago.
