Transplants from Puebla, Mexico, Arturo and his sister Maribel drive their tiny chrome truck to the northeast corner of Park Avenue and 52nd Street each morning at four, firing up grills in preparation for the oncoming influx of devoted fans. The duo scrambles eggs, grills seven-grain breads, and dices up chorizo prepared exclusively by their father, folding the ingredients into Mexican-inspired sandwiches lauded by Serious Eats and CBS New York. They hand off plates of meaty tacos and cups of freshly brewed coffee with a smile, greeting newcomers, waving at regulars, and whistling in the private language of local chickadees.
