Choose Between Two Options
- $59 for a four-hour photography class (a $295 value)
- $119 for an eight-hour Photoshop class (a $395 value)
During the four-hour class, listed as "Photo 1" on Freeland Photography's website, students gain basic camera-operating knowledge about f-stops, shutter speeds, ISO, exposure, and other shooting elements using the camera's manual modes. Throughout the experience, students can practice what they've learned. Instructor Mike Freeland guides students and answers questions along with other professional photographers, depending on the class size. Though cameras may be available for use, bringing your own DSLR camera is preferable.
The eight-hour Photoshop class covers postproduction in Adobe Bridge and Photoshop. Instructors teach how to fine-tune photos for blogs, online stores, and other purposes. Students must bring their own computer with a copy of Photoshop CS3 or newer. A free 30-day trial of the software is available on Adobe's website.
Students should read their entire camera manual before class, bring a notebook or recording device, and arrive at least 20 minutes early. To see available class dates and times, see the drop-down menus for each class here. If you have a group of 10 or more people, you may schedule a private class.
Founder and professional shutterbug Mike Freeland calls on more than two decades of photographic experience and camera-handling in shoots ranging from staged portraiture to mostly improvised weddings. Joined by a team of 10 other photo pros, Freeland Photography captures moments during special events, documents images for commercial businesses, and invites families into the studio to strike poses before being frozen in carbonite. Freeland Photography was recently inducted into The Knot's Wedding Hall of Fame.
