Celebrating their 20th anniversary as a Class A-Advanced affiliate of the Minnesota Twins, the Miracle storm back into Hammond Stadium with their sights set on a Florida State League title. A former Twins farmhand and older brother of Twins catcher Joe Mauer, skipper Jake Mauer resumes his post at the helm of the home dugout, which has seen talents such as David Ortiz, Francisco Liriano, and Matt Garza pass over its steps and create secret handshakes with the Gatorade cooler. Under manager Mauer’s guidance, Twins’ 2011 first-round pick Levi Michael leads this year’s batch of future stars alongside outfielder Oswaldo Arcia, who is ranked by MLB.com as the organization’s third-best prospect.
Outfitted with a Churchill Downs-like outer façade, Hammond Stadium hosts each Miracle home game throughout the season. A full lineup of promotions further energizes home crowds, including half-price beers on Thursdays and Buck Night Mondays, when single dollars can be used to purchase select items or folded into shawls for shivering foul balls.
