Innovative classes feature pole-fitness sessions designed to boost confidence and build muscle definition throughout the body. The signature Pole Fitness Series takes dancers through seven levels of training, teaching students specific tricks they must perform to graduate to the next level. During classes for the hammock program, students contort and stretch in mid-air, while supported by a strong silk hammock, custom-made for the studio. For HoopFit and HoopDance, instructors teach dancers sultry moves and tricks using specialized hula hoops. Alternatively, during jump classes, lively club music plays as participants don boots outfitted with a special spring sole that helps to propel them off the ground while reducing the impact on joints upon landing. Sexy lights and sensual aromatherapy set the mood during the private pole party, which starts with a warm-up to help participants unwind. Then, a staff member will lead them in dance steps and pole tricks for up to 90 minutes of sexy fun. For the full experience, guests should wear stretchy booty shorts and a sports bra, tank top, or bra under a loose outer layer that can be easily taken off. Up to 23 more guests may be added for an additional fee of $25 each.
Though it gets its name from its pole-fitness classes, Polestars is hardly a one-trick pony. True, many guests might be attracted to the way the pole-dance sessions, taught with an artistic and athletic approach, build strength, flexibility, and sensuality through fun and inhibition-shattering routines. But they're just as likely to visit for the bounty of other unorthodox fitness classes. In Fly Gym, for instance, students support themselves on ceiling-mounted fabric slings or with their own powers of levitation as they perform yoga poses, strength exercises, and even traditional pole-dance moves high above the ground. Kangoo Jumps sessions fit students with specially designed bouncing boots for a low-impact, gravity-defying workout, and Hoopnotica helps participants hone body awareness and rhythm savvy with the simple aid of a hula hoop. Whatever class they choose, guests can rest their minds knowing they're attending an environmentally friendly fitness studio: the lights are energy efficient, the dance floor is made of sustainably grown bamboo, and the cleaning products are nontoxic and biodegradable.
