High End Barbershop & Salon opened as a modest 390-square-foot shop in 2003 and has since expanded to nearly three times the size. Hoping to expand their expertise and attention to detail as well, owner Richie Garcia and his scissor-wielding staff sculpt new 'dos for men, women, and children. Highlights, extensions, and keratin treatments beautify women's hairstyles and hot-towel shaves prevent overgrown beards from violating city-zoning regulations.
The rustic stone façade of Peace Nails & Spa belies the modern techniques used within to beautify skin and nails. Clients look at ranks of traditional and gel polishes on a mosaic-decorated display before swiveling in manicure stations’ royal blue chairs. Cushioned pedicure chairs help patrons relax as staffers buff away calluses or treat feet to lavender and aloe treatments. While emery boards rasp quietly, classic or french pedicures leave feet beautiful for when you don flip-flops or realize nobody can see if you’re wearing shoes behind a news desk. The shelves at the shop also brim with waxes for removing hair from faces, appendages, and bikini areas.
Laboratory Hair Studio is committed to providing unsurpassed service customized to meet the needs of each client in a friendly, fun, and comfortable atmosphere. Our staff is highly-trained and passionate about the craft of hairstyling. Let our team help you look & feel your best!
The friendly staffers at Aura Salon Spa work their pampering wizardry in a large, modern space. The 30-minute express pedicure kicks off with a sole-softening soak, preparing feet to meet with the buffer and file. Next, cuticles and calluses are removed, stems are moisturized, and tootsies are topped with enough shiny color to garner envy from the Las Vegas Strip. The 30-minute basic manicure converts nails from their natural state of corporate-ladder-climbing claws to elegant, unruffled shapes. Cuticle care and a candy-colored coating complete turkey-stencil transformation.
While growing up in Ecuador, Jacqueline Cicala acquired an eye for fashion and beauty after participating in pageants and primping her loved ones. Upon relocating to the US, she earned a cosmetology degree and honed her skills in New York salons. She also studied theatrical makeup at Last Looks Makeup Academy and aesthetics and hair design at Artistic Academy. When she wasn't taking classes, she shadowed bridal and runway experts, participated in Fashion Week, and attended major trade shows.
After amassing more than a decade of experience, Jacqueline founded a boutique salon known as Blowout, where her team of seasoned stylists transforms customers with environmentally friendly beauty products such as Davines and Rahua. While they sculpt new hairdos with cuts, coloring, and extensions, customers can peruse the staff’s past work, which hangs proudly on the walls.
Jacqueline also started Looks, a Jefferson township hair and makeup service for weddings, private parties, television, and rodeo-clown tryouts. While she embellishes brides, she works with other stylists and uses only hypoallergenic products from brands such as MAC, Lancôme, and Trucco.
The waxing wizards at Niko's Hair Studio stealthily capture and disappear unwanted facial and body hair. Both men and women can achieve a smoothness that rivals that of cool jazz and surrealist pick-up lines with an array of waxing services. Clients can reshape the arch of an eyebrow ($13+) or create a sleek profile by defuzzing their chins ($13+). After a wax, legs ($63+/full or $45+/half) can strut more aerodynamically and underarms ($30+) can experience uninhibited arm-flapping flight. Smooth a furry chest ($45+) into a blank canvas ready to be painted for football games or inscribed with a current home address.
