About Fountain Hills St. Patrick's Festival
For Fountain Hills St. Patrick's Day, the land that boasts the 4th tallest fountain in the nation transforms into the Emerald Isle for a splendid, family-friendly celebration of Irish tradition. Here's a handy guide to what to expect from this festive festival.
- The Sight to Behold: At 1 p.m., the famed fountain of Fountain Hills sprouts geysers of green that reach up to 562 feet in the air, and continue their awe-inspiring spurts every hour on the hour until 6 p.m.
- The Music: Dance a jig to the tunes of Traveler, a world music act that fuses classic Celtic melodies with rock
- The Libations: Irish beers, served cold, frothy, and green
- The Food: Traditional Irish corned beef and cabbage, along with hamburgers and hot dogs; all decidedly not green
- Kids' Activities: Wee ones enjoys jaunts in a bouncy house and treks up a rock climbing wall, plus face painting, balloon animals, and a basketball hoops contest
- The Special Guest: Former NBA star and Phoenix Suns' ambassador Steven Hunter, who would have an unfair advantage in the kids' basketball hoops contest
- What to Wear: Whatever doesn't get you pinched, plus the wearer of the best Irish costume when a prize

There was a very small area for drinks and a big line. Wasn't worth going there. Parking was hard to find. We just stayed out and did not use groupon at all.
