More people than ever are living a sedentary lifestyle: waking up in their race-car beds, driving to work in their race cars, sitting for eight hours in the passenger seats of experimental race cars as men in lab coats slam them into concrete walls, and then driving home again. Race to fitness with today's Groupon for aerial fitness classes at Learning2Fly in Mission. Choose from four options:

  • For $29, you get three aerial fitness classes (a $60 value).
  • For $25, you get a Parents’ Night Out children's workshop on Saturday, May 14, 7 p.m.–10 p.m. (a $50 value).

Housed in a unique dome-shaped building, Learning2Fly takes age-old fitness needs to the next level with an array of soaring athletics. Owner, instructor, and Jane of all physical trades Sumya Anani oversees a lively and colorful environment in which adults and children can improve health and self-esteem through unique exercise.

Aerial arts augment existing workout routines, both gentle and vigorous, by enhancing brawn, dexterity, and coordination on each level. Students partake of three different aerial classes: aerial yoga, a gravity-defying twist on the classic poses of its grounded counterpart, aerial silks—a pose-fortifying routine reminiscent of Big Top theatrics, and aerial conditioning, a diverse session encompassing lessons in corde lisse (a special rope) and hoops as well as fitness ball and floor work.

The Parents’ Night Out children's workshop allows young ringmasters age 7–14 to spend an evening learning the ways of the wire. From trapeze wrangling to hammock mastery, the elevated three-hour adventure indoctrinates kids in circus secrets while parental figures catch a flick or finally complete a five-year-old round of Monopoly. The night culminates with a wind-down snack and art project to commemorate the high-flying event.

About Learning2Fly

Learning2Fly’s founder Sumya Anani believes that all conscious movement leads one further down the path to empowerment. It is this philosophy that led Anani to become a registered yoga teacher, massage therapist, and personal trainer. She teaches techniques to all skill levels through introductory classes including aerial basics, aerial classes for kids and teens, and beginning silks for women 50+; instructors guide, motivate, and inspire you to reach new heights and bring your sense of adventure, enthusiasm, and willingness to laugh at yourself. They focus on what you can do, and build on that as everyone improves from their own starting point. Similarly, aerial camps immerse participants in the body-bending skills required to master her artful form of fitness. While clients maneuver in suspended grace, her trained instructors also teach intro classes like Basics for Bigger Bodies and Hatha yoga classes, which boost the flexibility and strength of those who are afraid of heights or making their pet emu jealous.
