What You'll Get
Art helps people reach a wide audience without shouting from the top of radio towers, provocatively dancing behind a local TV field reporter, or tying speech bubbles to migrating birds. Express yourself with this Groupon.

Small groups unwind over cocktails and acrylics at Happy Hour at VisArts classes, as an experienced instructor teaches students to produce their own interpretations of a selected piece by subtly changing colors. Each student begins with a partially sketched 11”x14” canvas and an array of supplies, including acrylic paints, brushes, an easel, and an apron. Alternatively, artists cut glass and decorate it in the fused-glass workshop, ultimately creating a 6”x6” plate or 4”x8” dish which is ready to be picked up within two weeks. Creative mindfires are stoked with snacks, soda, and red or white wine provided by the instructor.

A nonprofit community arts center, VisArts fills its studios with artists learning techniques of creative expression, and acts as an exhibition opportunity for seasoned creators. Classes span a wide artistic spectrum, including concentrations such as ceramics and glass, many of which can be specifically tailored for the educational needs of children or resurrected Renaissance men in need of a new hobby. VisArts also enriches the community with a trifecta of galleries—the Kaplan, Gibbs Street, and Common Ground—and a thriving resident-artist program.
