  • Torza's Professional Golf
What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition? We have something for the entire family. The golf driving range has covered and heated tees that are open all year round. An exclusive members area with a natural turf putting green and chipping green and two practice sand traps. Mini golf, batting cages and a bar and grill right on the property. Is your location strictly for adults, or can kids participate as well? There is no age restriction to play miniature golf or use the batting cages. What was the inspiration to start or run this business? Our family has always been in the golf business. The miniature golf has two ways to play. It was specifically designed to help the skilled golfer practice their short game while allowing an amateur to play along side with a fair advantage. What do you love most about your job? I love being able to work outside, develop new ideas and put them into action, and talk with all different sorts of people. I never have a dull day at work.

  • Cnr Sports Corps
What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition? CNR Sports LLC is a family owned and operated business that helps build our community by supporting youth sports. From the very beginning, CNR —by very name —formed for “Caiden and Reese”, embodies the care and mission of the business through the owners of the business and their two boys. What's one tip for first-time students that will make them feel like veterans? Tip of the day: Warm up, warm up, warm up. Do your stretches. Your muscles will thank you for it. What was the inspiration to start or run this business? Our inspiration comes from a personal life-long awareness that team sports is a factor in the development of good character. It's important to us that our children use sports activities to stay in shape, boost friendships, and build relationships with their peers and adults. What do you love most about your job? The people we meet. Sports gives you an opportunity to surround yourself with competitive people and role models, and we get to learn from them both.

  • Greenwood Trails Summer Camp
Greenwood Trails Camp’s owner and director Owen Langbart firmly believes that all kids—especially today’s generation of cell-phone addicts and video gamers—need the quintessential camp experience. With more than 100 wooded acres at the foothills of the Berkshires and a staff of friendly counselors that specializes in orienting first-time campers, his one-, two-, four-, and six-week camps aim to do just that. Winding paths and hiking trails lead young guests aged 7–16 to the many amenities that cover the grounds, including a larger-than-Olympic-size swimming pool, an indoor climbing wall, a water trampoline, a batting cage, and a pottery studio. These same paths lead to the cozy cabins that house up to 12 campers and two counselors with all of the comforts of home: electricity, bathrooms, showers with hot and cold running water, and an old man in a recliner who won’t let go of the remote even if he falls asleep. Regardless of age, Greenwood Trails lets campers choose the activities in which they’d like to take part in daily, such as pottery, photography, or outdoor cooking. Participants also engage in cabin activities that encourage bonding among bunkmates, such as swimming together in the lake or joining in an untieable human knot.
