  • Moylan's Brewery & Restaurant
Five Things to Know About Moylan’s Brewery & Restaurant Bay Area native Brendan Moylan opened the doors to his brewery in 1995, just one year after having it built from scratch. Inside the 7,000-square-foot facility, kettles and tanks churn out every single beer that’s available in the dining room. Read on to learn a few more facts about Moylan’s: Brendan started as a home brewer. After brewing transformed from a hobby to a full-blown passion, he decided to take classes on brewing techniques at UC Davis. He also co-founded Marin Brewing in Larkspur. Two grain silos supply the brewery with all of its barley and wheat. The barley silo holds 40,000 pounds, and the wheat silo holds a mere 30,000 pounds. Kilt Lifter is one of the brewery’s most-acclaimed beers. It won numerous awards for its balance of rich malts and delicate hops. Tip: allow it to warm slightly in your glass in order to enhance the beer’s bold character. Moylan’s delivers. It packages its beers in 22-fluid-ounce bottles—which are also made onsite—and ships them all over California and several other states. It’s family-friendly. The restaurant half of Moylan’s welcomes diners of all ages with a menu of crowd-pleasing pub staples such as pastas, pizzas, and burgers.
