Q&A with the Aestheticians
People go to spas to forget about the outside world. How does your decor help create an atmosphere where visitors can unwind?
We offer a modern and warm, yet professional, medical environment. All three of our offices feature free wifi, refreshments, and elegant decor. Our Chicago facility has its own parking lot.
Do you use any products or brands you're particularly proud of? What makes them uniquely effective?
Our products help improve the appearance of all types of skin imperfections. They are clinically proven products designed to help revitalize, enhance, and maintain healthy skin for life. We stock Obagi, Neocutis, PCA, and Jane Iredale Cosmetics. Additionally, we offer Sciton laser treatments for facial rejuvenation or laser hair removal. We also started offering the new VI Peel.
What is one fun, unusual fact about your business?
We have a medical side that specializes in varicose vein treatment that is often covered by insurance, in addition to the plastic surgery and medical spa services.
Board-certified chiropractic physician Dr. Naveed Elahi takes a multidisciplinary approach to pain relief, disease prevention, and whole-body health at Health First Wellness Center. The practice specializes in chiropractic medicine, a science that aims to alleviate such common conditions as headaches and neck pain without the use of drugs, surgery, or noogies. In cases where traditional chiropractic medicine does not apply, the doctor rounds out the treatment menu with acupuncture and clinical massage therapy, two ancient modalities that can reduce anxiety and improve sleep. Furthermore, personal training and nutrition counseling help patients ward off the specter of disease in a more reliable manner than hanging garlic cloves on their treadmills. In addition to MedSpa services including laser hair removal and VelaShape body smoothing and contouring, Health First Wellness Center also offers yoga, Zumba, and Pilates classes.
Dr. Sameer Naseeruddin, the primary physician on site is double board certified by the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine and the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Naseeruddin grew up in the Chicago land area, went to University of IL Urbana Champaign and completed an Internal-Medicine residency at Cook County Hospital of Chicago IL with post graduate specialization in Varicose Veins. He picked up fluency in several languages along the way, including Spanish. A member of the American College of Phlebology and a Diplomat of the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine, he treats a diverse, multicultural client base at Skypoint Vein Center. Dr. Naseeruddin specializes in sclerotherapy, endovenous laser and radiofrequency vein ablation as well as the new cutting edge treatment for varicose veins, Venaseal (vein glue). Ultrasound screenings are conducted by Gregory Gleyzer, RVT RDMS (specialized vascular sonographer) to make sure there is no deeper underlying disease causing spider veins above.
At Dermalight Laser Clinics, a licensed physician oversees a highly trained staff as they utilize laser technology to treat a wide variety of dermal woes. Not content to subscribe to a one-laser-fits-all approach, they offer free consultations to their customers, reviewing medical histories and analyzing skin types, in order to pinpoint the exact tools and technologies that will garner the best results. Laser services include hair removal, spider-vein removal, and facials that target irregular pigmentation, enlarged blood vessels, and Santa beards that have been cemented on. They can also use chemical peels to remove damaged outer layers of skin, leaving the face looking tighter, smoother, and healthier in just a matter of minutes.
To the staff at Renaissance Med Spa, a client's request for facial tightening never conjures images of a surgical procedure. Instead, the lateral-thinking staff would probably envision the Inmode fractora laser—a device that glides over skin to painlessly promote collagen production and fade wrinkles, acne scars, and Sharpie-drawn goatees. The spa offers nonsurgical solutions to other skincare woes, including laser hair removal, massage, and age-fighting dermal fillers. Each treatment is performed under the supervision of Dr. Carl Cucco, and the certified staff comprises registered nurses, nurse injector specialists, licensed massage therapists, and licensed aestheticians.
The clinicians at NW Laser Like Lipo know that, when it comes to weight loss, there's no substitute for diet and exercise. But
they aim to augment those efforts with noninvasive, FDA-approved laser-like lipo treatments. During treatments, the team targets
stubborn problem areas such as the arms, hips, and midsections, draining fat cells in a process similar to what occurs during exercise minus the profuse sweating. Afterward, the team may recommend sessions on a vibrating platform to help flush out the released contents. In addition to laser lipo, nutrition counselors customize diet plans to help cut down calories without sacrificing protein or vitamins.
