The epicenter of the Annapolis Recreation & Parks’ programs is the 80,000-square-foot Roger “Pip” Moyer Community Recreation Center, which includes a 3,000-square-foot fitness center with myriad amenities, such as seas of cardio- and strength-training machines, and indoor track, and a towering indoor rock-climbing wall. The expansive three-court gymnasium welcomes athletes to hone their dunks, setting skills, and ability to derail a basketball game by chucking the ball off-court.

In the fitness center, a troupe of experienced fitness specialists leads group classes, ranging from Zumba’s high-energy Latin-dance-inspired moves to the boot-camp-style Body Work Challenge to Vinyasa yoga, which helps participants increase their flexibility while incorporating mediation strategies.
