Since 1972, Prevent Child Abuse America (PCA America) has run community programs and advocated for public policies that help prevent child abuse. PCA America's direct service program, Healthy Families America, has been endorsed by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for its work providing free at-home visitations that promote positive parenting. Healthy Families America staff members guide new mothers and fathers in establishing strong family environments to facilitate child development and prevent neglect or abuse.

Healthy Families America works with more than 65,000 families each year, many of which struggle with child rearing due to limited support systems. The organization’s home visitors distribute parenting booklets to these new mothers and fathers during the first months of a newborn's life, when children require as much care as possible to help them develop healthy bodies and minds, and avoid preventable learning and growing disabilities later in life. The booklets impart important information on brain development to help ensure children develop in a healthful environment. The booklets typically cost $1.30 each to produce, however, its printers, Channing Bete Company, have discounted the cost of producing each book to $0.67, allowing donations from G-Team members to help more parents as they prepare to raise healthy children.

Join G-Team and donate $10, $25, or $50 to help Prevent Child Abuse America provide resources on parenting to new and expectant mothers and fathers participating in the organization's Healthy Families America program. If G-Team members raise $2,000, then PCA America can provide instructional parenting booklets to 2,985 homes preparing for the arrivals of newborns. Each additional $10 raised will provide 15 more booklets to expectant parents. The more donations that are received, the more booklets that will be printed, and at deeper discounts:

  • If G-Team members raise $2,000, then 2,895 booklets will be printed at $0.67 each, a 48% discount.
  • If G-Team members raise $6,000, then 10,000 booklets will be printed at $0.60 each, a 53% discount.
  • If G-Team members raise $10,000, then 20,000 booklets will be printed at $0.50 each, a 61% discount.
  • If G-Team members raise $15,000, then 34,000 booklets will be printed at $0.44 each, a 66% discount.
  • If G-Team members raise $20,000, then 56,000 booklets will be printed at $0.36 each, a 72% discount.

Unlike traditional Groupon deals, G-Team campaigns typically don't offer you a "discount" or "savings." So "buyer" beware—when you click "Buy" to donate your time or money to a worthwhile G-Team cause, the only discount you may receive is 100% off free, priceless karma. Read more about G-Team.
