While getting a manicure in L.A., screenwriter Michael Elliot scanned the room to realize there was only one other male in the salon. The two struck up a conversation about how uncomfortable they felt, and when Elliot questioned other friends, it turned out they weren't the only men to feel out of place in a typical salon setting. So Elliot created a nail-service business where men could be men. His story was so captivating, it even caught the high of Fashionista, who recently profiled Elliot's venture.
Inside the oblong space, men ease into oversize leather chairs, sipping complimentary beverages and watching sports games or very special episodes of Maude on personal flatscreen TVs. As they lounge, experienced nail technicians massage their shoulders and buff their nails.
