Choose Between Two Options

  • $30 for a two-hour segway tour of Tampa (a $65 value)
  • $30 for a two-hour segway tour of St. Petersburg (a $65 value)

The year-round tours take place three times daily, seven days a week, and include a brief 20-minute introduction to the Segway’s auto-balancing features. The tour of Tampa takes off to trace Tampa Bay's coastline, zip through the longest uninterrupted sidewalk on the planet, and flit past where the bay merges with the Hillsborough River. Tours swing by beloved Tampa landmarks such as the Gasparilla pirate ship on their way to Harbour Island, where tour-goers can snap pictures of downtown Tampa's skyline.

Beginning downtown, the St. Petersburg tour commences with carefree glides toward the waterfront area and along the pier—which stretches into Tampa Bay and serves as a gathering spot for shoppers, anglers, and pelicans posing as sidewalk vendors. From there, tours breeze through the leathery-leaved banyan trees of North Straub Park, whisk past the new Salvador Dali Museum, and take a peek at the Mediterranean Revival–styled Vinoy Renaissance St. Petersburg Resort & Golf Club.

Magic Carpet Glide

Fueled by a burning desire to be his own boss and eschew driving or walking, Geoff Karlavage founded his segway tour company and quickly met other fans of the upright, electric-powered transportation device. Now calling the shots as enthusiast-in-chief of Magic Carpet Glide, Geoff shares his zeal for segways with a team of tour guides who seek to inspire a segway smile on each participant's face. Accessible to all ability levels, the company's signature tours of notable metropolitan locales surprise visitors and locals alike with little-known facts about the area and secret sights made visible only by onboard decloaking devices.

Tour times vary based on the sun’s schedule, with the last trip of the day commencing at sunset. See the tour’s FAQ section for answers to common inquiries, including recommended ages and rain policies.
