Equipped with a lifetime of familial artistic affinity, photographer Neil Edwardson seeks to unlock each subject's inner beauty in the diverse enclosure of his photography studio. During a free consultation, Edwardson and his clients discuss portrait style, clothing, client interests, and preferred monocle brand before beginning a one-hour studio sitting. Studio lighting and colour are fine-tuned before Edwardson augments subjects' superhero poses with included props such as an antique trunk, vintage armchair, chaise lounge, and children's toy riding car. Clients choose their favoured shot before testing the wall-warming capabilities of an 8"x10" framed portrait. Edwardson retouches the chosen image at no additional cost before swaddling the newborn photo in a washable, UV-resistant finish, and backing it up on a web-optimized storage disk. Clients can focus their photo faces as they secure ample free parking around the studio.
Photographer Samantha Melenka has a studio, but she mostly shoots on location––at venues that range from grassy fields to wedding receptions. For wedding shoots, she often collaborates with her husband, photographer James Melenka. Together, they capture grand tableaus such as the bride getting ready, or the uncle falling asleep. Through Samantha's other work, she captures the bond between families, a child's innocent grin, and the chemistry between newly engaged couples. Her photo booths, meanwhile, allow subjects to run their own shoots, controlling the booths' 18-megapixel cameras via touchscreen.
Coquitlam Centre, perched at the epicentre of the Tri-Cities, encompasses 910,000 square feet of shopping across two floors. Stores run the commerce gamut. Shoppers can stroll past windows chock full of the latest fashions in stores such as H&M and Aritzia or gear up for a 5K at lululemon and Sport Chek. To forestall any impending temper-tantrums, they host a kid's play park, stroller rentals, and free shuttle service around the Upper Level.
