A student of Native American, Peruvian, and Siberian shaman traditions, Rhonda Day-Kooy spreads her passion for medicinal plants through the green products, classes, and events offered at Blue Feather. Some of Day-Kooy's customers come to the botanical boutique for aromatherapy certification, and others stop in to purchase eco-friendly skincare products by Babo Botanicals and whimsically flammable wares from Flying Wish Paper. In the Healing Hut, Rhonda and her therapists lead spiritual therapies, including guided meditation, chakra balancing, and foot-based reflexology treatments.

What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
My photography is neither photojournalistic or posed. It is simply an expression of the family's and individual's personality.
There is typically a great mix between posed and candid photos depending on the client's style and taste, after all these are YOUR photos not mine.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
I started Nicolena's Photography because of the support and courage I was given by employers and family who had seen my work. I began taking photos of the children I cared for and friends/family and now it has bloomed into a full fleged business. I couldn't be more thankful for my return customers.
What do you love most about your job?
The happiness the perfect photo brings, or the emails that follow. I love it when a parent, or client let me know that we perfectly captured them or their child.
Especially when I get an iconic look or expression.
I enjoy making adults at ease during the process and bonding with the little ones.
What is the best reaction you've ever gotten from a customer?
The best feedback I have received is the numerous return customers we have.
It has been a privilege to watch families grow from couple sessions, to newborn sessions and now yearly family photos.
We also thoroughly enjoy the numerous holiday cards we receive featuring our photos.
