    As a physical therapist, Carrie Moore worked to help patients rehabilitate their musculoskeletal injuries for five years. Throughout her practice, she noticed a troubling trend: a striking number of the dysfunctions were the result of insufficient or nonexistent fitness regimes. From this realization sprung RipQuest Boot Camp, Carrie's four-week offensive against sedentary lifestyles. Along with her staff of physical therapists and trainers, Carrie motivates groups of 20–30 toward lean and toned physiques via muscle confusion. This technique is based on fast-paced, dynamic workouts that target different muscle groups to prevent them from getting too accustomed to certain routines, thus rendering exercise ineffective. Tweaked to accommodate varying fitness levels, the boot camps rally sluggish bloodstreams with cardio, strength-training, speed, and agility exercises using a variety of fitness equipment. Patrons power through lunges to build solid quads, hurl medicine balls to bolster core and arm strength, and jump ropes for a calorie-annihilating burst of cardio.     Exercise is challenging, and people frequently give up on their fitness routines. How do you keep clients motivated? Each training class is varied, so the daily workout routine never actually feels "routine." Boredom can be the biggest enemy of a workout program. An even bigger enemy is being asked to train beyond your current level of fitness. We program our workout routines to fit the current fitness level of all our New Warrior class members, whether they are new to a structured training program or highly experienced athletes. Each member leaves each class with sense of accomplishment, utilized to help them take on their next training class. Training plateaus don't stand a chance at New Warrior FitCamp. What is the biggest mistake you see people make when trying to get fit on their own? Some of the biggest mistakes most people make attempting to get fit on their own [are] not knowing where they are physically at the time they begin a training program. [Another one is] following general training programs found online, in health and fitness magazines, or DVDs from late night infomercials that don't keep their personal physical attributes and limitations in mind. [That leaves] a lot of room for unwanted injuries. [Other mistakes include] having a lack of accountability. At New Warrior Fitcamp, each new class member is properly assessed before beginning our classes, is taught the proper warm up, cool down, and recovery movements to avoid injury, and is confident knowing their New Warrior classmates and coaches are their biggest support team, no matter what their training level may be. We train as a family and succeed as a family. Sweating to the oldies is acceptable, but sweating to the blues less so. Do you find that certain styles and genres of music generate more intense workouts? I feel at times the style of music should reflect the style of training, the training environment, and the type/personality of clientele that make up your classes. However, there are times I find that music can also distract clients from learning proper instruction from their coach, as well as distract the trainee from being in the moment of their training.
