Buckhead Fight Club
Terri "The Boss" Moss knows a thing or two about motivation. The former narcotics investigator was 33 years old when she slipped on her first pair of boxing gloves, but her late arrival to the ring did nothing to prevent her from taking the fighting world by storm. She entered the professional circuit about two years later, and racked up five world-title bouts in three separate weight divisions during her nine-year career. After defeating Stephanie Dobbs—13 years her junior—in 2007 to become the Intercontinental Strawweight title-holder, the champ soon retired and founded Atlanta Corporate Fight Night, a charity boxing show that trains everyday folks from the business world while raising money for local causes.
Today, Moss continues to prove it's never too late to suit up for battle, teaching boxing lessons for wannabe professionals and weekend warriors alike in her own gym, Buckhead Fight Club. The graffiti-strewn space, which opened in May 2013, hosts boxing, taekwondo, and yoga classes, as well as on-site massages that help boxers relax enough to finally unclench their fists.
